Compare what the human eye can see and what Safetech "sees" To the human eye, this is just some material on a conveyor.

The conveyor takes the cardboard up to the baling press, where it's compressed into cubes by a powerful hydraulic ram.

So far, everything looks normal.

But hover your mouse over the picture to see what Safetech can "see": a human body.

The man is unconscious and nobody knows that a disaster is about to happen.

But he's wearing a Safetech detector belt.

The Sentinel system will stop the conveyor and save him from injury or death.
When we first developed the original Safetech device, we knew we had a winning product.
To prevent accidents on conveyors and other hazardous machinery, we found a way to make a reliable system that could distinguish human beings from material.

If anyone comes into the danger zone, Safetech will switch off the machinery and prevent injury or death.

It's a very simple proposition and easily explains why today, Safetech systems are effectively protecting lives on hundreds of sites in the UK and across Europe and North America.
The Safetech Sentinel control panel
Conveyor We know the installations are rugged and reliable - our earliest systems are still going strong after over twenty years of successful operation. That's one of the reasons why Safetech is recommended by major manufacturers and installers of conveyors and baling equipment.

But we can't pretend it's always been easy. We've put Safetech into some very hostile environments, with extremes of temperature and humidity, and often with high levels of background interference.

Although you can create a virtual simulation of these conditions in the lab and workshop, what really counts is practical experience gained in the field.
We know how demanding some locations can be and we've refined Safetech to become the sophisticated choice of systems currently available.

Without our years of experience, we wouldn't be where we are today.

From basic knowledge like realising that a pager-style device clipped into a pocket is unlikely to survive in a tough industrial environment, to finding ways of creating effective detection without interfering with wireless networks and communications.

Sentinel is the latest improved version of the personnel protection system developed and refined by Safetech for the recycling industry.

Anyone wearing a detector belt is automatically safeguarded as the conveyor and shredder or baling press will stop before the worker reaches the hazard zone.

Unlike some inferior systems, detection is not impaired by body mass and material.
We're sometimes asked why we don't allow customers to install Safetech themselves and why we recommend annual inspection.

The answer's quite straightforward - if lives depend on a system, isn't that important enough to require installation by experienced technicians and regular checking by experts?

We think so.
